Marvel’s Avengers is promising a full-fledged single player driven campaign for those who want a story first and foremost, but for those looking to stick around after that is done, there’s going to be plenty to do, as per the developers. Speaking with Daily Star, Noah Hughes, Studio Creative Director at Crystal Dynamics delved into some details about what the post-game content in the upcoming action adventure title will hold.

As per Hughes, once the campaign is done, there will be “even greater threats” facing the world in the game, which the Avengers (and the players) will have to deal with. As per Hughes, this post-game content will be an “exciting experience that ultimately gets harder and harder as you get farther through that progression.”

As players progress farther and farther into the post-game, the game’s difficulty will also ramp up, which means that co-ordinating with your teammates in co-op will also become more instrumental. In Hughes’ precise words, “co-ordinating as multiple Avengers will become a more significant demand.”

There will also be “plenty of levelling-up to do”, while Hughes also hints at raid-like activities against new threats and villains, which he describes as “hero-sized foes” and “much larger villains”. All of which is to say that once you’re done with the campaign and move into the post-game activities (which look like they’ll be following a live service model, what with all the new areas and heroes the developers promise to keep on adding post-launch for free), you’ll be diving into a very co-op-centric experience.

Marvel’s Avengers is out on May 15, 2020 for the PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Stadia. Though the game recently received its first public gameplay demonstration at San Diego Comic-Con (where Ms. Marvel was also confirmed), that was shown only to those attending the panel- the demo will be released for viewing to the masses in August, a week after Gamescom. That said, footage from Comic-Con has already started to leak out, which has given us glimpses at some interesting alternate costumes and visual upgrades. Take a look for yourself through here.
