Control’s looking like a visual spectacle, thanks to its technical prowess and its distinct and wonderfully weird art design. PC players will, as always, be getting the best deal in terms of how the game looks. Not too long ago, official system requirements for the game were released, and seeing as the game’s looking like a powerhouse (which will also support ray tracing), the fact that these requirements (especially the recommended ones) were pretty hefty wasn’t all that surprising.

Now, though, it seems like those requirements have been lowered. Publishers 505 Games recently put up updated system requirements for the game on their website, and both minimum and recommended specs have been lowered. For minimum specs, you now need either an Nvidia GTX 780 or an AMD Radeon R9 280X, as well as either an Intel Core i5-4690 or an AMD FX 4350 (earlier, these were either an Intel Core i5-7500 or an AMD Ryzen 3 1300X, along with either a GeForce GTX 1060, or an AMD RX580.

For recommended requirements, you now need an Intel Core i5-7600K (or Ryzen 5 1600K), in addition to a GeForce GTX 1660/1060 (or a Radeon RX 580). Earlier, recommended specs were an Intel Core i5-8600K (or an AMD Ryzen 7 2700X) and a GeForce GTX 1080Ti (or an AMD Radeon VII). Requirements for ray tracing have also been kicked down from a GeForce RTX 2080 to a GeForce RTX 2060.

You can take a look at the full (new) system requirements below. Control recently went gold, and is out on August 27 for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
