In its recent trailer for Inside Xbox at Gamescom, which features the debut of Gears 5’s Horde mode among other reveals, Microsoft confirmed that Age of Empires would be present. Age of Empires 2: Definitive Edition was announced at E3 2019 so it’s a given that it will appear. However, it seems there may be more than just that.
A recent tweet asked fans to stay tuned for Inside Xbox at 8 AM PT for “exciting” news. Obviously, our first assumption is new details for Age of Empires 4, developed by Relic Entertainment. Announced at Gamescom 2017, the only real bit of information we have is that the sequel will be coming to Windows 10 PCs.
Other reveals for Inside Xbox include Paradox Interactive’s Empire of Sin gameplay reveal, Destiny 2: Shadowkeep and the reveal of multiplayer in Ghost Recon Breakpoint. Stay tuned for more information afterwards as well with Gamescom Opening Night Live. Starting at 11 AM PT, the show runs for 2 hours and features about 25 games.
