EA remains one of the biggest publishers in the industry and have kept itself open to most platforms. That reach has stopped a little with Nintendo’s systems, however. While the first year or so of the Wii U saw a few major ports, the support the company has given the platform holder has been minimal since, even with the smash success of the Switch. Now, it seems the company is hoping to change that or, at least, are thinking about it.

There was a bit of a polarized response to a comment from the company’s CEO that said the lack of support for the system came from fans of their titles gaming on other platforms. Now it seems the company’s Chief Studios Officer, Laura Miele, wants to walk that back a little since she told Game Informer that the system is something they are absolutely looking at in hopes of bringing their biggest hits on the go.

“We invested with FIFA. We had good success there. I love that we have such a great global reach and global presence on that platform with that game. We are absolutely looking at more Switch games in our portfolio, so more to come on that. We’re not going to announce anything as of yet. But it is absolutely a platform we’re looking at for some of our more successful games.”

As it stands now the only games EA has really released for the Switch has been the FIFA titles and Unravel 2. While there is obviously a lot of technical limitations with porting to the Switch, even more low tech entries from the company have skipped the system. Whether any of that will change or not is anyone’s guess, but I wouldn’t hold out too much for any other EA games or franchises to come any time soon.
