Earlier this month, 343 Industries announced an interesting initiative for Halo: The Master Chief Collection. It offered the chance for players to bring game types and maps from their original Halo 3, Halo: Reach and Halo 4 file share profiles on Xbox 360 to the collection. The developer has confirmed in a recent tweet that over 6.6 million user created maps have been copied over.
This means a whopping amount of content for both Xbox One and future PC players of Halo: The Master Chief Collection. Considering how much content was already in the collection – since it features Halo 1 to 4 along with Halo 3: ODST and Halo: Reach – that’s some crazy value. We’re still waiting for details on a release date though.
343 Industries is also busy working on Halo Infinite which releases for the Xbox One and Project Scarlett in Holiday 2020. Despite being a launch title for Scarlett, the development team noted that it “looks and plays fantastic” on Xbox One. Concerns have arisen following the departure of creative director Tim Longo but the “overall creative vision and production” is still in the hands of studio head Chris Lee.
Over 6.6 million user-generated maps in Halo 3, Halo: Reach, and Halo 4 have been successfully copied for future access in MCC! Learn more about our plan to bring these community creations forward: https://t.co/JBUrifp2mz pic.twitter.com/tPXdFVy8mp
