Yakuza Like A Dragon

New details on Yakuza: Like a Dragon, Ryu ga Gotoku Studio’s newest title in the series, have emerged courtesy of Weekly Famitsu. Some new characters have been revealed like Saeko Mukouda, a hostess at a cabaret, and Kouichi Adachi, a former detective who went against the Metropolitan Police Superintendent General and received a demotion.

Interestingly, Adachi actually works with Ichiban Kasuga to get evidence from Masumi Arakawa. Arakawa is the one who made Kasuga a yakuza in the first place and also supposedly betrayed the Tojo Clan. How their dynamic evolves over the game remains to be seen.

Gameplay features include delinquents traveling into RPG-style enemies when entering into battles, either having mohawks and weapons or being half-naked. You can use summons in battle, bringing characters like Gary Buster Holms, Gonda Wara and more to the fight (or using them to recover).

New activities include Dragon Kart, a kart racing activity that also lets you pick up weapons like gatling guns and rocket launchers; a movie theater where you have to play a mini-game to prevent Kasuga from falling asleep; and several PachiSlot games.

Yakuza: Like A Dragon is out next year for North America and Europe but releases in January 2020 for Japan on PS4.
