Obsidian Entertainment has begun to showcase more footage for The Outer Worlds, its upcoming FPS/RPG. We’ve already seen the first 20 minutes of the game and in a recent video with IGN, narrative designer Nitai Poddar highlighted the character creation system. Check it out below.

Attributes are standard fare, though increasing something like Perception will increase headshot and weak spot damage. Skills are even more intriguing because along with, say, Intimidate being useful in conversations, it unlocks the Terrify skill at a high enough rank. This has a 20 percent chance to scare away creatures for 10 seconds when you kill one.

The character creator is shown near the end, offering a variety of different choices. While the hair selection seems limited, you can customize a variety of different facial features from eye size, nose size, nose tilt and cheeks to mouth size and skin tone. It’s not going to beat Code Vein any time soon but it’s still feature-packed.

The Outer Worlds releases on October 25th for Xbox One, PS4 and PC. It’s also slated to release on Nintendo Switch but at a later date.
