After multiple leaks over the past couple of weeks, Capcom recently officially announced a remake of Resident Evil 3. And though it was hard to miss, especially given how packed the entire announcement trailer was, the very end of the trailer displayed a logo for an unknown studio names M-Two.

If you’re wondering what M-Two is and what role it’s playing in the remake’s development, a recent report by VGC might have some answers for you. As per the report, M-Two is a newly formed studio, backed by Capcom, that is headed up by Tatsuya Minami, who was a Capcom veteran of many years before he came the CEO of PlatinumGames, prior to departing from the former as well in 2016.

At Capcom, Minami was involved in the development of several major releases, including the likes of multiple Resident Evil, Mega Man, Devil May Cry, and Street Fighter titles. VGC’s report also claims that several other Capcom and Platinum staff are also working with Minami at M-Two, and that the studio, which has been active for around a year, is helping out with the development of Resident Evil 3.

Another interesting tidbit mentioned in the report claims that M-Two is named so because Minami had originally approached former Capcom man and Resident Evil creator Shinji Mikami to co-found the studio with him. Hence, the two Ms- Minami and Mikami. Though Mikami chose to remain at Tango Gameworks under Bethesda, the name for the new studio seemed to have stuck.

Resident Evil 3 is out for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC on April 3, 2020. Check out more details and additional gameplay footage from the survival horror title through here. You can also find details on its limited collector’s edition through here.
