Activision’s Call of Duty: Warzone is out today and presents a free to play, battle royale experience with some new mechanics. These include Contracts, the Gulag and Cash for spending on different upgrades and equipment. Since it’s free to play, that means PlayStation Plus (and Xbox Live Gold, though it hasn’t been explicitly concerned) won’t be needed.

If you are a PlayStation Plus subscriber, then you can download the Warzone Combat Pack for free. It consists of cosmetic items and is exclusive to PS4 until October 1st. Now for the bad news – if you don’t have Call of Duty: Modern Warfare installed, you’re looking at an 83 to 101 GB download as per Activision.

Those who do own Modern Warfare will only need to download 18 to 22 GB. Warzone will replace the current “Classified” tab in the Main Menu and can also be downloaded early at 8 AM PDT. Battle pass progress is shared between both titles, allowing players to use unlocked cosmetics in Warzone.

Call of Duty: Warzone is out for Xbox One, PS4 and PC in just a few hours. Stay tuned for more details.
