In spite of nationwide lockdowns having forced many retail stores and chains in the UK to close down their doors for the time being, it seems like the week ending March 28 was actually a pretty strong one for boxed video game sales in the region (via GamesIndustry), with over 340,000 game units have been sold across the week.

Animal Crossing: New Horizonswhich debuted on top of the charts last week with some mighty impressive record-shattering sales, saw a bit of a drop this week of 81 per cent, falling down to third place. DOOM Eternalwhich was a fellow debutant last week, also fell from second to fourth place this week, seeing a 76 per cent week-on-week decline in sales.

Topping the charts this week, then, was Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, retaking the top spot once again with a 78 per cent week-on-week sales boost. It was followed by FIFA 20, which also enjoyed a 53 per cent increase of its own. Other perennial performers like Grand Theft Auto 5, Red Dead Redemption 2, and the Crash Bandicoot and Spyro remakes, all figured in charts as well.
