TeamKill Media have been among the first in the industry to officially announce a game for the PS5, but their upcoming cosmic horror first person shooter Quantum Error won’t be a next-gen exclusive, since it’s also going to release for PS4.

Clearly though, the developers want to utilize the next-gen console’s hardware to its fullest, which is something that they’ve talked about quite a bit. With that in mind though, how are they also planning on making sure that while doing that, Quantum Error also runs well on the significantly weaker PS4?

Speaking to GamingBolt in a recent interview, Dakoda Jones and Micah Jones of TeamKill Media said that for now, they’re completely focused on calibrating the game for the PS5, and will only begin to optimize it for the PS4 once it is much closer to release.

“At the moment our focus is primarily on the PS5, so at first everything is going to be calibrated for that platform and we won’t do most of the optimizing for the PS4 until we are close to being finished,” they told us.

We also asked TeamKill Media how long players can expect an average playthrough of Quantum Error to be, and they told us that though it’s still “too early to know exactly,” they’re aiming for the 15-20 hours range for the horror title.

Quantum Error is due out later this year for the PS4 and PS5. Our full interview with TeamKill Media will be live soon, so stay tuned for that.
