Bandai Namco has released the first trailer for Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot’s first paid DLC “A New Power Awakens – Part 1”. This focuses on Goku and Vegeta training with Whis, an angel, to master the power of Super Saiyan God. Ultimately, the goal is to battle Beerus, the God of Destruction for Universe 7.

The trailer does a good job highlighting the gulf in powers. Whis is incredibly fast and deploys tons of Ki blasts, making it tough for Goku and Vegeta to manage. However, in Super Saiyan God form, we see both characters able to battle Beerus to some extent. Key emphasis on “some”.

Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot “A New Power Awakens – Part 1” releases on April 28th for Xbox One, PS4 and PC. The second part has yet to receive a release window. Another DLC pack, which contains a new story arc, is also in the works so stay tuned for more details in the coming months.
