TeamKill Media have made it abundantly clear time and again that their upcoming first person cosmic horror shooter Quantum Error is going to properly leverage the PS5’s more powerful hardware, but something that we still don’t know about the game is when exactly it will come out for the system. The developers have said previously that they haven’t yet nailed down an exact release date, but it seems they’re working hard to ensure that it releases as close to the PS5’s launch as possible.

Speaking in an interview with the Official PlayStation Magazine in its June 2020 issue (issue 175), TeamKill Media President Micah Jones said that the developers “fully expect” to hit an “early PS5 launch” for Quantum Break, before saying that having the game release as a launch title for the next-gen console is something they “dream and pray” for.

“We fully expect we can achieve an early PS5 launch for Quantum Error,” said Jones. “However, we dream and pray we could release as a PS5 launch title, and believe if you set your mind to something and work hard you can achieve anything.”

Whenever it does launch, Quantum Error will also be available on PS4. Though it’s launching as a PlayStation exclusive, the developers haven’t completely ruled out a possible Xbox Series X release down the line.

We recently held our own interview with TeamKill Media’s Dakoda Jones and Micah Jones, speaking about Quantum Error’s gameplay structure, how it will leverage the PS5’s hardware, what sort of a balance it will strike between action and horror, and much, much more.
