During a recent Q&A session with investors, Ubisoft confirmed that mergers and acquisitions with other studios and companies in the industry is something that they’re going to look into. CEO Yves Guillemot said that it’s something Ubisoft will be looking at “carefully,” but also suggested that with the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and the impact it could have on their business, their priorities might be on tackling its challenges for the foreseeable future.

“We are studying carefully the market these days and if there are opportunities we will take them,” Guillemot said. “At the same time we have also to tackle these new challenges so it’s taking a little bit of our time. For sure, we’ll look at it carefully.”

During their quarterly financial briefing, Ubisoft spoke about other ways the COVID-19 pandemic might affect their business going forward as well. The publisher still plans on releasing 5 AAA games during the current fiscal year (ending March 31st, 2021), but one of those might end up getting delayed. Read more on that through here.

Ubisoft also provided updates on sales figures of its games, stating that 11 of its releases this console generation have sold over 10 million units.

Ubisoft have also announced Ubisoft Forward for July, an E3-style showcase where they will be sharing new announcements and updates.
