DOOM Eternal PC Patch Removes Denuvo Anti-Cheat

The patch also fixes crashes related to customizable skins and memory issues.

Tis the week for Denuvo removals. After Metro Exodus patched out Denuvo anti-tamper from its PC versions, id Software has made good on its promise to remove Denuvo Anti-Cheat from DOOM Eternal. Patch 1.1 is now available and removes integration with the anti-cheat. You still need to manually uninstall it from Windows though.

Added in last week’s major update, the anti-cheat courted extensive controversy on release due to its kernel-mode access and one’s inability to play the single-player campaign without it. It wasn’t the cause of performance issues that players were experiencing, however. Several crashes were caused due to customizable skins in the game among other reasons.

Fortunately, this update addresses that as well along with fixing memory-related crashes for some users. Check out the full patch notes below for more details. DOOM Eternal is currently available for Xbox One, PS4, PC and Google Stadia. You can read our review for it here.
