Media Molecule have been working on adding VR support to Dreams for a couple of months now, and they’ve now officially announced Inside the Box, a PSVR update that their creation suite will be receiving later this month, on July 22.

Over on the PlayStation blog, Media Molecule’s communications manager Abbie Heppe has also given some brief details on what players can expect from this expansion. It will, of course, now allow players to create and share virtual reality content. This will mean new creation tools, kits, new tutorials on how to use them, and new content made by Media Molecule themselves.

As far as creation is concerned, players will be able to use PlayStation Move controllers (if you have them, of course), for “a very one-to-one experience”, but even non-VR players will be able to create VR content. Creators will be able to specify whether their content is playable in VR, while players themselves will also have the option to rate the comfort level of each creation. Meanwhile, Media Molecule have also added new accessibility features for VR, including comfort mode, vignette strength, static sky, and more.

As mentioned earlier, this update also bring new content created by Media Molecule, which includes “sculpts and art pieces from different members of the team, including an ultra-fabulous mech” and games such as Box Blaster, which tests players’ sharp-shooting skills (and will have its own creation kit).

Dreams is available now on PS4.
