DiRT 5 will be one of many major games releasing as cross-gen titles later this year, and like many of them, Codemasters’ upcoming racer will feature some notable upgrades on next-gen hardware. For instance, it had previously been confirmed that it would feature an option for 120 FPS on the Xbox Series X. Most have assumed since that will be available on the PS5 as well, and that’s something that Codemasters have now officially confirmed.

Speaking in the upcoming issue of the Official PlayStation Magazine, DiRT 5 development director Rob Karp said, “The power of the PS5 also means that we will have an option for 120fps, which is very exciting for the racers who know that every frame counts.”

Codemasters have previously spoken about making use of other next-gen hardware-specific features as well, having discussed the Xbox Series X’s SSD and the possible applications of the adaptive triggers in PS5’s DualSense.

DiRT 5 releases for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC on October 9, will become available for PS5 and Xbox Series X later in the year. Check out some recent gameplay footage through here.
