Sea of Thieves Crosses 20 Million Players

Season One's final update goes live today with a new event coming next week.

Sea of Thieves - Seasons

Rare’s Sea of Thieves has hit a new milestone, crossing 20 million players since launching in March 2018. The multiplayer pirate title first became available on Xbox One and Windows 10 before coming to Steam and more recently to Xbox Series X/S. On Xbox Wire, Rare thanked its players and stated that 2021 would be its “biggest year yet.”

Today also marks the launch of Season One’s final update which adds new cosmetics to the Pirate Emporium and prepares for the Vault Raiders event on March 25th. Those who log in to Sea of Thieves from now till March 25th will receive the Prosperous Captain’s Sails while Xbox Game Pass members can net the Jump for Joy emote by March 21st. Xbox Game Pass Ultimate Perks include the Ocean Crawler Bundle, which is free from March 18th to June 18th.

Those who want to pick up the game can also avail of a 50 percent discount on the Microsoft Store till March 21st. There will also be a Gold and Glory Weekend from today till March 22nd which provides double Gold, additional Seasonal Renown and double Trading Company rep.
