At this month’s Square Enix Showcase, the publisher confirmed a final name for Project AthiaForspoken, which is out in 2022 for PS5 and PC. A trailer with some gameplay was also showcased, highlighting Ella Balinska as Frey Holland. An extended cut of that same trailer is now available and provides some new gameplay bits. Check it out below.

Frey’s agility continues to be a highlight as she maneuvers around a bear-like foe and conjures a spell against it. The story sees her suddenly transported to the world of Athia as she battles for survival. Why she was brought there, what trials she’ll face and the mysteries surrounding Athia drive the plot forward.

Forspoken is developed by Luminous Productions of Final Fantasy 15 fame. It’s being developed simultaneously for PS5 and PC with a two-year long exclusivity period for the former. Stay tuned for more details and gameplay footage later this year.
