CEO of Asobo Studio Sebastian Wloch recently showcased Microsoft Flight Simulator running on his own PC in a recent stream, showcasing the latest update scheduled to go live with the console release of the game. The stream demonstrates a significant boost in performance.

Wloch’s PC is equipped with a Core i7-9700K and an RTX 2060 Super GPU, and Microsoft Flight Simulator on the current build runs at around 30-40 fps at an upscaled 4K resolution in a test simulation. With the latest update, however, the same simulation reaches framerates of up to 60 fps. From these tests, it is clearly evident that the latest update does wonders for minimizing CPU strain, which in turn, allows the GPU to reach its full potential and pump out more frames.

Microsoft Flight Simulator might be one of the prettiest games, but running it at an acceptable framerate is no easy feat. Therefore, it’s great to see the studio putting in the required efforts to make sure many more players can have a pleasant experience with the game. Microsoft Flight Simulator is available now on PC, and the Xbox Series X/S version is planned for release on July 27.
