In the latest episode of Forza Horizon 5: Let’s ¡Go!, Playground Games showcased the variety of biomes that will be available in the upcoming open world racing sim. There are 11 unique biomes in total, ranging from jungles and canyons to coasts and the city of Guanajuato. New gameplay footage of a race was also revealed – check it out below.

Along with unique weather, each biome has its own unique sights and sounds. For instance, the Canyon consists of rock formations with the sound of vehicles echoing throughout while the Tropical Coast as a range of palm trees and sandy beaches while hosting stormy weather. The Arid Hills offer wide spaces across plains and rolling hills with a lake that actually dries up in Winter, opening up new passages and areas.

Detailing the process of recreating each location, art director Don Arceta said that, “Our team collects reference from the location and creates concept images that highlight the beauty and unique detail for each biome. We employ techniques such as photogrammetry to recreate the environment with precision accuracy. And we bring the beauty of the world in, through the sights and sounds you’ll find throughout every area. The goal of the artistic process is to make it feel like you’re really there.”
