Months of anticipation paid off yesterday when Sony and SIE Santa Monica formally unveiled God of War: Ragnarokand several new details on the highly anticipated sequel have been coming in since then as well, from its change in leadership to Bear McCreary returning as composer to so much more. Of course, some of the most crucial details that have been revealed are related to the game’s story and its main characters, and there’s plenty to talk about there as well.

In fact, developer SIE Santa Monica Studio has also released new artwork showcasing various new and returning characters, as well as who they will be played by (courtesy of IGN on Twitter). Kratos and Atreus are returning, of course, and will be played by Christopher Judge and Sunny Suljic again, while other returning characters and actors include Brok (Robert Craighead), Sindri (Adam J. Harrington), Freya (Danielle Bisutti), and Mimir (Alastair Duncan).

Then, of course, there are the new characters, including Thor (played by Ryan Hurst), Tyr (Ben Prendergast), Durlin, who we saw in the trailer with a squid on his arm (Usman Ally), and Angrboda, who we also saw in yesterday’s trailer (Laya DeLeon Hayes). Angrboda, if we go by the actual Norse mythology, is Loki’s wife, and the mother of Fenrir and Jormungandr. Take a look at the art for each character below.

God of War: Ragnarok launches for PS5 and PS4 in 2022. It will serve as the conclusion to the series’ Norse saga.
