The action-adventure title is currently a PlayStation console exclusive, but developer Lab will considering bringing it to more platforms as well.

Kena: Bridge of Spirits is out now, and it’s fair to say that it’s lived up to the hype it generated in the lead-up to its launch, delivering a solid action-adventure game with Zelda-esque design sensibilities and an absolutely stunning visual aesthetic. But with the game being a PlayStation console exclusive (alongside a PC release), there’s quite a few people out there who won’t be able to play it. So will that change in the near future?

In an interview with SegmentNext, the question was posed to developer Ember Lab’s co-founder Josh Grier, who reiterated that Kena: Bridge of Spirits’ PlayStation exclusivity is part of a timed deal (same as its Epic Games Store launch on PC), and that once the game is out (which it is now) and the development team has had some time to rest, the studio will “look into” other platforms- so don’t lost hope for an Xbox version of Kena just yet.

“We are currently focused in our launches for PlayStation and Epic Games store, which are timed exclusives.” Grier said. “We will look into other platform releases after launch and a rest.”

He added: “Right now, with just a few days to launch, it’s very difficult to think about next steps or future offerings. We have been responding to the requests from the community as best we can. For example, we just announced a physical release and the addition of Russian and Brazilian-Portuguese.”

Ember Lab also has plans to support the game with additional features and content for the foreseeable future, so it should be interesting to see how they balance that and ports for other platforms, especially given the fact that this is, at the end of the day, a small indie team. Of course, the sooner the better- Kena: Bridge of Spirits is a great game, after all, and hopefully more people will get the chance to play it in the not-so-distant future.
