Marvel's Avengers

There’s a lot to be said about Marvel’s Avengers as a case study for how no matter how big and popular an IP may be, it doesn’t necessarily hit the way you expect. Much has been written and said about the game’s underperformance and why that happened, but Square Enix seems determined to at least give the game a good run of post-launch support. Now we get to see a first look at one of the most anticipated pieces of DLC, and probably the most controversial.

As most no doubt remember, it was announced that Spider-Man would be coming to the game, but he would be doing so as a character exclusive to the PlayStation family of consoles. That didn’t sit too well with some fans, as one would imagine, but we’ve been patiently waiting to see what that looks like either way. Now, via the official Twitter, you can check him out below. It’s about what you’d expect from the webslinger. There will be a trailer to see the hero in full action tomorrow.

Marvel’s Avengers is available now on most platforms. The next major update, which will include Spider-Man for PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4, will drop on November 30th.
