Starfield

There aren’t a lot of developers out there who’re better making deep, complex open world RPGs that put an emphasis on player choice as well as Bethesda Game Studios does, and with its next project, Starfield, the studio is very much looking to continue along those same lines- and even tough new heights.

In a recently released second episode of the behind-the-scenes series “Into the Starfield”, various members of the upcoming RPG’s development team – including lead artist Istvan Pely, lead quest designer Will Shen, design director Emil Pagliarulo, and of course, game director Todd Howard – speak about the open world of Starfield, how it encourages exploration, what players can expect from it in terms of choice and consequence mechanics, the ways its improving upon past Bethesda games in terms of RPG mechanics and progression, and more. Check out the full video below.

Though we haven’t seen a great deal of Starfield gameplay, similar videos over the last few months have still revealed new details on the game, talking about various locations in the world, the lore and story, its art style, and more.

Starfield is scheduled to launch on November 11 for Xbox Series X/S and PC, and Bethesda seems pretty confident that it won’t need to delay the game. Microsoft and Bethesda are planning on showing more of the game this Summer, with recent rumours suggesting that an E3-style Xbox showcase is being planned for June.
