Xbox Game Pass has been doing extremely well for Microsoft with over 25 million subscribers as of January 2021. While the service continues to look appealing, especially as Sony readies new subscription tiers for PlayStation Plus in June, a Family Plan is missing. If you live in a household and want more than one account to access the same Game Pass plan, that’s currently not possible.
This is reportedly changing with trusted sources telling Windows Central’s Jez Corden that an Xbox Game Pass Family Plan is coming sometime this year. It will apparently allow a maximum of five players to access an entire library. They can even play together with a single subscription, which a central account holder controls like Netflix.
It’s currently unknown whether PC Game Pass and Xbox Game Pass will have separate Family Plans or everything would be exclusive to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. Pricing is also yet to be divulged aside from it being much cheaper than purchasing separate accounts. An announcement should be coming up soon though so stay tuned for more details.
