Ubisoft’s foray into the battle royale space wasn’t a very successful one, with sci-fi FPS Hyper Scape set to shut down later this month, it seems the company already has a replacement lined up. As per a new report published by known insider Tom Henderson on Exputer, Ubisoft is working on a new PvPvE third person shooter codenamed “Pathfinder”.

Apparently in “very early” development at Ubisoft Montreal, the game uses a similar art style to Hyper Scape. It will see players playing as several Heroes with unique abilities in teams of four. Each time will be placed at the outskirts of a map at the beginning of a match and will be tasked with getting to its center and fight the AI-controlled main boss.

To get to the center, players will also have to get through two walls, but the placements and positioning of the gates in the walls that are open will randomly change in each match. Other AI enemies and opponent players and teams will lie in your path as well, and fighting against them will level up your character and make you stronger, while AI enemies will get progressively stronger as well.

According to Henderson, Pathfinder will also feature a central hub similar to the Tower in Destiny, where players will be able to interact with each other, use the shop, head to a firing range, participate in events, use vehicles in races, and more.

There’s been no official word from Ubisoft on this game, so take this with a grain of salt for now- though given Henderson’s track record and how leak-prone Ubisoft as a company is, this seems like a safe bet.

In another recent leak, Henderson also claimed that Ubisoft has 20 announcements and updates planned for the near future, which also includes reveals for several new games, including Assassin’s Creed Rift, The Crew 3an Immortals Fenyx Rising sequel, and a 2.5D Prince of Persia game inspired by Ori.
