Monster Hunter Rise Sunbreak

Wrapping up its reveal of new abilities coming to all weapons in Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak, Capcom has released trailers for the Light Bowgun and Dual Blades. First up, the Light Bowgun receives the Silkbind Attack “Wyvern Counter.” This is essentially an evade backwards that also fires a shot dealing significant damage.

Its new Switch Skill is Critical Firepower which seems to increase shot damage while lowering range. This could be most useful for Spread Ammo users. As for the Dual Blades, there’s “Spiral Slash” where the player propels themselves forward like a drill to damage the monster. The new Switch Skill is the Slide Slash Combo, which also seems to act as a counter and can step to the side to continue attacking.

Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak is out on June 30th for Nintendo Switch and PC. There’s still a lot more we don’t, particularly when it comes to the endgame, but it’s likely being kept secret until launch. In the meantime, check out the latest info dump here which showcases the new Elder Dragon, Malzeno, along with new subspecies, Followers and much more.
