Far Cry 6

As with its many other open-world titles, Ubisoft’s first-person shooter Far Cry 6 is getting a free weekend. Starting tomorrow and ending on August 7th, it’s playable on Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5 and PC via the Ubisoft Store and Epic Games Store. The full game is also discounted by 60 percent during this period with progress from the free weekend carrying over.

Along with the base game, which features the biggest map in the series, Far Cry 6 has received several new missions in post-launch updates. Rampage through Yara with Danny Trejo, indulge in some Rambo tribute missions or explore the Upside Down as part of the Stranger Things collaboration.

DLC has also been released as part of the Season Pass that allows for playing as previous Far Cry villains like Vaas (Far Cry 3), Pagan Min (Far Cry 4) and Joseph Seed (Far Cry 5). For more details on the base game, check out our review here. As for what’s next for the series, Ubisoft is apparently working on a live-service title. Stay tuned for more details, hopefully at Ubisoft’s showcase in September.
