Square Enix has shared some new details on its upcoming life simulation RPG Harvestella. Taking place during Quietus season when calamity befalls the world, the player explores the world to gather Seaslight. In the process, they’ll visit towns like Nemea, the Town of Spring.

While flowers bloom all year round in Nemea, it does have some problems like a strange egg that’s appeared on the Spring Seaslight, causing monsters to fly into town. The player must investigate this along with Asyl, who’s part of the Argus Brigade protecting Nemea. You’ll also meet Istina, a teacher who is beloved by the townsfolk but seems to have a hidden past.

Much like the Final Fantasy and Bravely Default series, players can equip different Jobs that provide access to different weapons and abilities. Along with the Fighter, Mage and Shadow Walker Jobs, there’s also the Sky Lancer. Wielding a spear, it’s good at physical attacks that also deal Wind damage. The sheer reach makes it ideal for fighting multiple foes at once.

Jobs are learned by recruiting different characters who have them. Since Asyl is a Sky Lancer, working with him results in his class being usable. Throughout one’s journey, there are also different Character Stories which allow for getting closer with other characters. Not only does this grant rewards but also provides benefits in combat.

Farming is also important so there’s a wide range of crops available to use. Nemea is home to the Nemean Tomato, Wisty Peach, Cucumble and Strawbuddy. These can be used to create cuisines like Nemea Bolognese, Peach Rose Mousse, Zucchini and Mince sandwiches, and Strawberry Shortcake. Players can also fish, shipping fish for money or using them in cooking, with different locations and conditions influencing the types of fish caught.

While shipping, it’s possible to create processed goods using machines and sell them for more profit. Harvestella is out on Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam on November 4th. Stay tuned for more details in the coming months.
