During a financial update, Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick has stated that Grand Theft Auto 6 will be set a new benchmark for creativity in the gaming and entertainment industry, according to PC Gamer.

Providing an update on Rockstar’s work on the upcoming game, Zelnick said that Rockstar is determined to push the game further than any other game in its history.

“With development of the next entry in the Grand Theft Auto series well underway, the Rockstar Games team is determined to once again set creative benchmarks for the series, our industry, and for all entertainment, just as the label has done with every one of their frontline releases,” said Zelnick.

Aside from occasionally stating that development is underway, Rockstar Games is yet to make any concrete announcements about Grand Theft Auto 6. Rumours, however, have been floating around about some of the game’s details.

Grand Theft Auto 6 was reportedly planned to feature four different protagonists, and take place along three different cities. Plans seem to have changed, however, and more recent rumours indicate that the game will feature two protagonists, one of whom, in a first for the franchise, will be female.

The rumoured release window for Grand Theft Auto 6 falls somewhere between April 2023 to March 2024. It will likely target current-gen consoles—PS5 and Xbox Series X/S—along with PC. Rockstar is yet to make any announcement about this, however.
