Sonic Frontiers, Sonic Team’s foray into an open world-esque environment, is now available for Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PS4, PS5, PC, and Nintendo Switch. It sees Sonic, Tales and Amy Rose investigating the Chaos Emeralds. Through a series of twists and turns, Sonic ends up on Starfall Islands and must save his friends. Check out the launch trailer below.

Along with exploring various regions in the archipelago, there are ancient ruins, Guardians to fight, and puzzles to solve. Sonic will also venture into Cyber Space Stages constructed from his memories of levels from previous titles. Several new abilities and upgrades are available to make his quest easier, and he’ll even rely on his Super form to take down some of the tougher bosses.

For those who pre-ordered the Digital Deluxe Edition, the latest patch must be installed, and DLC downloaded before starting the game. If not, the DLC will become invalid after the tutorial area. Monster Hunter collaboration DLC also arrives on November 15th, so stay tuned for more updates.
