The Last of Us Part 1

The Last of Us’ PC debut should have been an occasion worth celebrating for Naughty Dog and PC audiences alike, but the PC launch of The Last of Us Part 1 hasn’t gone to plan, to say the very least. The game is riddled with crippling technical issues, many of which make it outright unplayable, and that has been reflected in its reception as well, even if it got off to a decent start on Steam (it currently sits at a score of 56 on Metacritic, the lowest in Naughty Dog history).

Taking recently to Twitter, Naughty Dog acknowledged those issues once again, and pledged to keep providing updates for the game to bring it up to its expected level of quality. “We know some of you have not experienced the Naughty Dog quality you expected,” the developer wrote. “Our team is working hard to resolve issues currently preventing some of you from experiencing the game to ensure it reaches the quality level you expect and deserve.”

On Tuesday, Naughty Dog will push out a new hotfix for the game that will address jittering on mouse-controlled camera movement, some crashes, and more. Meanwhile, a larger patch with more fixes will go live later on in the week.

“Our team, and our dedicated partners at Iron Galaxy will continue to investigate and address known issues to deliver the great The Last of Us Part 1 experience you expect,” the studio wrote.

Naughty Dog has already released a couple of hotfixes for the game to address crashes and some of its performance issues.

The Last of Us Part 1 is available on PC and PS5.
