palworld

Breakout indie hit Palworld is a complex game with many progression systems working in conjunction with each other. Your own character’s level is one of these, and this Palworld guide will show you how to level up quickly.

Custom World Settings

By far the simplest method to level up quickly in Palworld is to tweak the difficulty settings to your liking. Navigate to:

  • World Select
  • Change World Settings at the bottom
  • Difficulty, set to Custom
  • Custom Settings, which will now be available to press
  • Scroll down to EXP Rate, which you can set to the extreme right end of 20 for the fastest possible EXP gain rate

This setting has a significant impact on how the game plays, and greatly speeds up your leveling experience.

Base Building

Just about every action you perform in the game world has EXP gain potential, and that includes expanding your base. Since this is not combat-intensive in the early stages when you are relatively vulnerable, your best bet at the start of the game is to farm resources and simply build, build, build infrastructure as much as your technology tree unlocks allow.

Catch Pals

There are EXP bonuses to be gained from capturing Pals instead of merely vanquishing them in battle, specifically for the first capture of a given species. Beyond the first catch, there is also a Capture Bonus for each of the next nine Pals captured of the same species. This can be tracked via a helpful counter in the bottom right corner under the Stats tab of a given Pal, on the Paldeck menu page. This EXP bonus is based on your own character’s current rank, and scales appropriately. With approximately 150 Pals, multiplied by 10 each, you will be earning these EXP bonuses from 1500 captures in total.

Farm Pals

No matter the Pal, whether low-level or Tower Boss, simply engaging them in battle will gain you plenty of EXP. While you should be wary of large level differences between you and enemies, keep in mind that your own level plays a role in just how much EXP you gain from each encounter, with higher ranks earning you more points. Almost every Pal has a respawn timer, and if you have the right team and the right tactics to quickly beat a particular enemy, feel free to return again and again to farm them for EXP.

Those are all the methods you can use to gain EXP fast and level up your character quickly in Palworld.
