Square Enix’s Visions of Mana has received several new details and impressions, alongside a new gameplay trailer showcasing other party members. Interestingly, when speaking to Noisy Pixel, series producer Masaru Oyamada revealed that it has more content than previous entries.
Regarding the playtime, Oyamada said the team is “in the middle of optimizing the final game, so changes can happen depending on that, and I can’t give a clear answer at the moment. However, it definitely has the highest volume of content you can enjoy within the series.
“Of course, the playtime will change depending on the player’s pacing, too. We feel this entry will provide very high satisfaction as an RPG experience.” Perhaps the main quest is a respectable length but there’s plenty of side content for players to experience. Going by Oyamada’s statement, it could surpass Legend of Mana on the PS One (which seemingly requires 51 hours for a completionist run, per HowLongToBeat).
Visions of Mana is out this Summer for Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5 and PC. A release date could be announced in the coming weeks based on how far the optimization has come. Stay tuned for more details, and in the meantime, check out some more gameplay footage here. It showcases the new pikul mounts and discusses the soundtrack, which features over 100 songs, with the music changing based on the situation.
