Ubisoft is celebrating the Prince of Persia franchise’s 35th anniversary this year, and after years of being starved, series fans have certainly had plenty to dive into this year, thanks to Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown and The Rogue Prince of Persia. At its recent Ubisoft Forward showcase, in addition to providing updates on both aforementioned titles, the company also shared a brief update on the Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time remake.

The company shared a brief new teaser trailer, which is effectively little more than a logo reveal for the game, though it does reveal a release window, confirming that Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time will be out at some point in 2026. Whether or not it sticks to that window remains to be seen- Ubisoft titles are no strangers to being delayed, after all.

Ubisoft announced a remake of Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time back in 2020. The project was being led by the company’s Mumbai and Pune studios, but after its reveal was met with criticism for its seemingly unambitious nature and insufficient visual and technical improvements, Ubisoft announced in 2022 that it had handed the project over to its Montreal studio. Recently, Ubisoft Toronto was also confirmed to be providing development support.

A recent report claimed that under new guidance, the remake project was rebooted and now features new gameplay mechanics, overhauled visuals, and more. Read more on that through here.
