Diablo 4 Season of the Infernal

Following the conclusion of its PTR earlier this month, Season 5 of Blizzard’s Diablo 4 will kick off worldwide on August 6th at 10 AM PT. Titled Season of the Infernal, it sees players battling the Infernal Hordes in, well, a new Horde-like mode. Check out the overview trailer below.

Available in both Seasonal and Eternal Realms and accessed via new Infernal Compasses, Infernal Hordes consist of 60-second waves that players must push through. There are even stronger foes called Aether Fiends to fight, including a more challenging version of The Butcher. Infernal Offers offer different benefits after each wave, though some may carry negative effects.

Revives are limited, and the Fell Council awaits after the last wave, but you gain Spoils of Hell for items with Greater Affixes and potentially new Uniques and Legendaries (with more than 50 new additions).

While the latter can be earned anywhere in the world, the rewards from Infernal Hordes will provide versions with “Hellish” qualities. There’s your motivation for grinding it non-stop.

Stay tuned for more details on Season of the Infernal shortly. Diablo 4 is available for Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5, and PC. Its first paid expansion, Vessel of Hatred, launches on October 8th and introduces a new class, the Spiritborn. Head here for more details.
