Gamescom Opening Night Live host Geoff Keighley has confirmed that MachineGames’ Indiana Jones and the Great Circle will receive a “new look” at the showcase. What that means remains to be seen, but after rumors of a December launch, there could be a release date announcement.

Based on the legendary film series (minus everything after The Last Crusade), the Great Circle takes place in 1937. Archaeologist/adventurer Indiana Jones becomes embroiled in the titular mystery, spanning locations around the globe like Egypt, Thailand, and the Himalayas. A confrontation at the latter was revealed at the Xbox Games Showcase this past June.

Despite some third-person cutscenes, this is actually a first-person title. Players will sneak around, utilize Indy’s signature whip, and solve puzzles (including some optional). Despite the cinematic presentation, it has a less scripted feel and emphasizes player choice.
