Despite being over eight months away from launch and lacking a price, Capcom’s Resident Evil Requiem has already achieved a significant milestone. The series’ official Twitter account has announced over one million wishlists for the survival horror title ahead of its release on February 27th, 2026, for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC.
As the next mainline entry, Requiem follows Grace Ashcroft, daughter of Resident Evil Outbreak’s Alyssa Ashcroft. Investigating a mysterious disease, she ventures to the Wrenwood Hotel in Raccoon City but ends up in a desperate fight for survival against a new monstrosity.
Despite Capcom assuring that Grace is the main protagonist, rumors continue to abound about Resident Evil 4’s Leon S. Kennedy also being playable. As such, the sequel is already bucking tradition by featuring first- and third-person perspectives, which the player can switch at any time.
Resident Evil Requiem will be playable at Gamescom in August. However, it’s also appearing alongside Street Fighter 6, Monster Hunter Wilds, and Pragmata at the next Capcom Spotlight on June 26th at 3 PM PT. Stay tuned for updates in the meantime.
