The first official review for Konami’s Silent Hill f (not including the one that allegedly broke embargo) is now available courtesy of Famitsu. It received a 36 out of 40, which means nines across the board, making this the highest-rated title in the series for the publication. Last year’s Silent Hill 2 remake received a 35 out of 40.

Extensive praise was given to the atmosphere, visuals, and sound, with the overall narrative mystery making it “hard to stop playing.” Combat was also described as “surprisingly satisfying,” especially when executing counterattacks, but those who “struggle with action” may find it challenging to enjoy even when lowering the difficulty.

Konami already confirmed multiple endings for the title, including the return of the UFO ending, with New Game Plus unlocking new content (including cinematics). As such, average playtime per playthrough is noted to be around 12 to 13 hours, with one reviewer stating that they “felt completely broken at times.”

Silent Hill f launches on September 25th for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC, but Digital Deluxe Edition owners can start playing on September 23rd. Head here for more details on alleged pre-load dates and stay tuned for updates.
