We seem to be getting quite a few limited editions of gaming hardware recently. We’re still not over that Wolverine-inspired PS5 design yet, but here we are talking about one for the Xbox that’s just as good, if not better. Gears of War: E-Day isn’t just a look at the early days of the Locust invasion, but an opportunity to commemorate that blast from the past with some hardware that lets the adventure stay with you long after you complete it.
The Gears of War: E-Day Limited Edition Xbox Controller features an excellent blend of Locust Red and Deep Black. The design reflects the cracked asphalt of an E-Hole and the sinister glow emanating from within. We’re particularly fond of the face buttons, as well as the incredible detailing and accents that make this stand out as a conversation starter for your gaming setup.
Even better is the fact that you can head on over to Xbox Design Labs to utilize another exclusive Luke Preece design that you can then customize by choosing between metallic triggers and D-pads, rubberized side and back grips, and a personalized engraving, which we’re sure is going to inspire a lot of creativity among those of you who pick one up.
There’s an accompanying trailer if you want a closer peek at both controller designs before you pick one or both. You could also read up on the early access beta’s known technical issues once you’re done.
