Developer Frontier Developments has released a new trailer for its upcoming zoo management and simulator – Planet Zoo 2. The trailer, which you can check out below, reveals one of the title’s new features – the research vehicle. These vehicles were shown in use at the Great Rift Valley Wildlife Reserve.
Since Wildlife Reserves will be quite large and have been designed with exploration in mind, players will need a quicker way to move around. For this, they can use a research vehicle. The vehicle itself doesn’t really offer any expanded capabilities other than allowing for faster travel. However, it will certainly beat having to walk around everywhere on foot.
Planet Zoo 2 is getting a number of new features that weren’t present in the original Planet Zoo. Aside from Wildlife Reserves, the title will also allow players to build out their own aquariums and aviaries, greatly expanding on the number of creatures they can have in their zoos. Earlier this month, Planet Zoo 2’s aviaries were showcased. We also got a look at some of the birds that players can expect to find and house.
When it comes to aquariums, Frontier Developments showed off how players can build them up back in July. Along with the building tools themselves, the trailer also showcased some gameplay features, like needing to build specific maintenance challenges that are unique to aquariums. Similarly, players will also have to be careful about where they keep their aquatic creatures, since habitat requirements tend to vary wildly.
Planet Zoo 2 is coming to PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S on October 13th.
