Between a free remaster for a beloved 2015 title, its newest expansion in over a decade, and other surprising – if not mind-blowing- reveals, Gamescom was a strange week. Nevertheless, it seems to have had the intended effect, as Alinea Analytics’ Rhys Elliott claims The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Songs of the Past topped the competition with 451,000 wishlists on Steam.
Second place, surprisingly, reportedly went to Warlock: Dungeons and Dragons by Invoke Studios. Launching in 2027 and starring Maggie Robertson, it’s a third-person action-adventure title where spell-slinging is the name of the game. At an alleged 379,000 wishlists, it seems to have made an impact on the right crowd.
The apparent third-most wishlisted title is Naked Rain’s Ananta. Which is strange because it’s a free-to-play title. Regardless, with allegedly 302,000 new wishlists on Steam, one can only imagine how the pre-registration numbers are faring, especially given the production values and lack of gacha mechanics.
Other notable titles on the list include LEGO Skylines (273,000), Heroes of Might and Magic 3 Remake (189,000) and WARDOGS (146,000). Of course, the list only accounts for new wishlists allegedly added over the weekend, not total numbers, so none of the above will beat Phantom Blade Zero, The Blood of Dawnwalker (which apparently net an additional 108,000) or Control Resonant anytime soon.
