Monster Hunter Wilds may have struggled to reach the same heights as Monster Hunter World, but Ascendance launches next year, and you know what that means: Daily weapon videos. Kicking off its latest series, Capcom has focused on Boosted Actions and what the Great Sword can do in the expansion.
Boosted Actions are exclusive to the new Boost Bracer, available with Master Rank quests. The idea is to keep attacking enemies and building up energy, then activating the Bracer to unleash a Boost Driver. Of course, each weapon also has unique Boost attacks, and these can enable new tactics.
For example, the Great Sword can unleash multiple offset attacks with the Boost Bracer, making it easier to knock monsters off balance. You can also rush forward and deal devastating damage with charged attacks. A leaping attack that mirrors Devil May Cry is also included, which may offer a clue as to Capcom’s inspiration. While other weapons appear in the Boosted Actions trailer, expect to see much more in dedicated videos over the coming days.
Capcom is hosting a new Spotlight showcase on September 16th, so it’s likely these will culminate in a specific announcement or reveal for Ascendance. Perhaps a release date? Time will tell, but given the timing of these videos, it may very well arrive early next year alongside the Nintendo Switch 2 version.
