If details on its console resolution and frame rates weren’t enough, Control Resonant’s review embargo date has been revealed. Remedy communications director Thomas Puha notes that it ends on September 18th at 6 AM PST/9 AM EST/2 PM BST.

The action RPG launches on September 24th for PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC. However, those who purchase the Digital Deluxe Edition on PlayStation will exclusively receive 48 hours of early access. Even then, the embargo is still roughly four days away, providing plenty of time to make up your mind.

From what we’ve seen thus far, however, it looks worth the wait, especially for those who have waited for a follow-up to Control since 2019. As Remedy’s “biggest and most ambitious game” yet, Control Resonant sees players controlling Dylan Faden, brother to the previous game’s protagonist, Jesse. Instead of the Service Revolver, he’s armed with the Aberrant, a melee weapon that switches between blades and oversized hammers when convenient.

You can learn everything about it here, but between discovering Faults, battling Resonants, and leveling up zones, Control Resonant will keep you busy. It offers about 30 hours of playtime for the “core” experience, though completionists can easily spend 50 hours (and that probably doesn’t include New Game Plus).
