With Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen out tomorrow and already receiving rave reviews, what’s better than a new overview trailer? How about one narrated by actor Ron Perlman, best known for his iconic lines that set the tone for the Fallout series? Check it out below.
It all kicks off in Norgan, a new snowy region that once thrived and is now in ruins. You could investigate why, hunting Relics in the frozen wastes, or pursue another mystery: The Fallen Dragon. Perlman teases that this tale is concealed behind “the very truth of slaying the Red Dragon,” referring to Grigori, who steals the Arisen’s heart to start both games.
What’s interesting is that the Fallen Dragon is referred to as something that “should never have been” and “Another Arisen, one you were never meant to encounter.” Is this a consequence of slaying the Red Dragon? Or is there something more sinister at play? Given the shadowy figure teased further in and the series’ lineage thus far, we’re going to guess it’s the latter.
Of course, that only scratches the surface of what Dark Arisen has to offer. You’ll also discover 12 new Challenge Dungeons throughout the base game’s areas, which offer powerful new items to claim. The Character Creator has also expanded to include new hairstyles and tattoos. And even if you don’t pick up the expansion, an update will add Hard Mode for free.
Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen launches on October 9th (or today at 5 PM PDT for those on the West Coast) for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, PC, and Nintendo Switch 2.
