Another year, another relatively well-received Silent Hill title by Konami. Sure, it had some quirks – complaints about The Weight echoed among critics and players – but a post-launch update certainly helped. It may have been too little, too late, though, as Alinea Analytics estimates that the first-person horror reportedly sold through 404,000 units since launch.
At a $50 price, it apparently generated $20.2 million in revenue, with PS5 dominating sales at 70.9 percent. Interestingly, 42.8 percent revenue was physical, again reflecting the medium’s significance, despite PlayStation’s decision to abandon it from January 2028 onwards.
Of course, the real elephant in the room is the sales compared to Silent Hill 2 remake and Silent Hill f. The former sold over one million in its first three days, while the latter performed even better, hitting the same milestone in its first 24 hours. Both were significantly better reviewed and are available on more platforms.
However, Silent Hill: Townfall also launched during an extremely busy release window, competing for attention alongside Control Resonant, EA Sports FC 27, and more. Don’t forget about Onimusha: Way of the Sword and The Blood of Dawnwalker from weeks prior, or Gears of War: E-Day and Ace Combat 8: Wings of Theve arriving shortly after.
Regardless, these are estimates, so we’ll wait for official figures from Konami. Until then, check out our review here.
