Quakecon 2012: “Much Loved Classic PC Shooter” Sees Revival

Posted By | On 21st, Jul. 2012

There was a time when id Software, creators of Rage (who also worked on some other games. “Doom” or “Quake” they seem to be called), never had to work hard to create publicity. Nonetheless, at QuakeCon 2012, they’ve outright gone ahead and started the hype wagon.

The company tweeted the following from it’s official Twitter page:

Going to QuakeCon? We’ll be revealing the revival of a much-loved classic PC shooter at the show. What could it be?

Speculations start with Doom 4, which has been in development for a while now and seen no real news in the past few years. But for what it’s worth, it’d be great to see id Software come completely out of left-field and announce the revival of Commander Keen.

QuakeCon 2012 kicks off on August 2nd and concludes midnight on August 5th. The convention will see the likes of Arkane Studios’ Dishonored and id’s Doom 3 BFG Edition playable to attendees.
