Skylanders Swap Force

In a really rather strange press release, Activision have today announced a new gameplay mode for the action figure centric video game, Skylanders Trap Team. Given the absolute absurdity of the press release, it actually took me to read it a few times to understand what was actually happening and what the new gameplay mode was. But here’s the details.

Skylanders Trap Team is getting a special gameplay update that introduces the Kaos Doom Challenge, named after the mighty emperor Kaos. Players taking part in the Kaos Doom Challenge will be tasked with facing wave after wave of enemies of increasing difficulty.

Players can choose from any one of their Skylanders heroes to do combat against the foe, but you can also build defensive towers to aid you. You can even go so far as to use Trapped Villains that you’ve gathered to help in the battle.

If you’re having a hard time figuring this one out, think Gears of War Horde Mode, but considerably less hardcore and awesome.
