2023 has already been a banger year for survival horror so far with the likes of Dead Space and Resident Evil 4, but fans of the genre still have plenty to look forward to in the months ahead. One game that’s been on many people’s radars for a long time – for years since before it was even announced, in fact – is Alan Wake 2, and sure enough, developer Remedy Entertainment is confident that the game will indeed launch this year.

Remedy previously confirmed roughly a year ago that Alan Wake 2 was in the full production stage, and said back in October that the game was on track to release in 2023. In a recent quarterly fiscal report, the developer reiterated that, saying that the game is “coming together on all fronts” and will be ready for its launch later this year.

Alan Wake 2, a long-awaited sequel to the 2010 psychological thriller published by Epic Games, is in the full production stage,” Remedy said. “In 2022, the game was coming together on all fronts and will be ready for its highly anticipated launch in 2023.”

Earlier this year, the developer said that the game was fully playable from start to finish behind the scenes.

Of course, when exactly it will launch in 2023 is something that neither Remedy nor publisher Epic Games have confirmed yet, while it also remains to be seen when the game will be shown off ahead of its release. Hopefully, that will happen in the coming months.

Alan Wake 2 is in development for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
